Sweets Bakeshop featured on Heavy Table
I recently met with Jill Lewis, a writer from the Heavy Table. Being an avid cupcake fan herself and working across the street from Local D'lish, she had already gotten to know Sweets Bakeshop's products. A few weeks ago she asked if we could sit down and chat about my experiences with starting Sweets Bakeshop. She will follow me as I continue searching for the "perfect" retail space and the next step for Sweets Bakeshop, so check back for updates.

Independent Wedding Association
As you will see on my facebook page (where I have posted pictures), I have started doing weddings. (Soon, I will be able to upload photos here too!)
In August, I catered a wedding with 600 cupcake in 6 different flavors and over 200 French macaroons. This Labor Day weekend, I created a 3 tier wedding cake for a wonderful couple along with over 100 favors of two piece French macaroon boxes and almond dragees packaged neatly with a ribbon. I absolutely love doing these events and getting to know the couples and thier personalities and then creating something beautiful and delicious for them.
I recently became a member of a great organization, the Independent Wedding Association. They are a newly created association focused on connecting local, small businesses that are close to their products and passionate about what they do with customers and fellow business members in the wedding industry.
The 2010 Independent Wedding Fair is scheduled for Saturday, February 6 at Five Event Center in Minneapolis. If you are planning your wedding, or know someone who is, and want a more intimate experience and to meet a variety of local wedding vendors, this is your place.
I hope to see you there.
In the mean time, you can also send an email to orders@sweetsbakeshop.com to inquire about pricing and availability for weddings and large events.
